Although the love between you and your significant other is undeniably amazing and important, we decided to instead take this space to gear away from the conventional Valentine's Day post and instead, remind you of the importance of YOU, and how to be your own Valentine.
Celia Grace's core is about empowering women in the ways that we can. Each of our beautiful fair trade wedding gowns are named after an inspiring woman in history, including Diana, Maya, Joni, etc. Through the handmade creation of these dresses, seamstresses in India and Cambodia are guaranteed safe and empowering working conditions, earning them paychecks to send their girls to school.
Now, when it comes to Valentines Day, we'd like to give you suggestions on how to make the day or any day, special for you. Here are a few ideas:
Have yourself a pamper session. Massage? Bubble bath? Manicure?
Catch up with an old friend. You'll appreciate it as much as they do :)
Try something different. New flavor of tea? Hot yoga?
"Surprise" yourself flowers! You deserve them.
...And of course, getting yourself anything chocolate! (Give this ethically made chocolate a try!)
So on Valentine's Day, the Hallmark Holiday of loving your other half, don't forget about your own half, your whole, and treating yourself to special things every now and again :)
Natalie and Andrew celebrated their DIY wedding at a flower farm in Natalie's hometown of Groton, MA. An August wedding, the event was a neighborhood affair full of colorful accents and happy guests.
